National Child Abuse Prevention Month recognizes victims of child abuse and neglect, and works to promote the well-being of children, families, first-responders, and service providers. During the month of April the Friends of CWB engage the community by planning and funding several events throughout the month. These efforts are geared to urging our community to always remember these special populations, examples of these events are:
ABOUT CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH
- Commissioners Court Proclamation – Annual declaration by Bexar County Commissioners Court declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention Month
- Blue Sunday A National Day of Prayer – This non-denominational event urges everyone to stop and pray for victims of child abused and neglected children, those who care for them, recognizes caseworkers, foster and adoptive parents, and first responders.
