Nanci recently retired from USAA where she spent the previous 13 years as an Executive Director leading the planning, protocol and governance of all USAA events, both internal and external, for the company’s 36,000+ person workforce and over 13 million members.
Managing a full-time staff of 10, she provided the oversight necessary to ensure all events were reflective of USAA’s brand, reputation, and culture. Prior to the events role, Nanci was a writer/producer/Issue Manager in the Employee Communications group before moving over to the Federal Savings Bank to become a Marketing Programs Specialist. She left USAA in 2002, relocating to the Houston area, where she worked as a freelance communications resource for a large number of corporate, commercial and educational training clients.
Nanci began her career in Nashville as a production assistant for the Crook and Chase show on The Nashville Network. From there she spent 5 years at EDS in Plano, Texas, serving as a producer/director in their Corporate Communications video department. In 1995, Nanci moved to Nortel Networks in Richardson, Texas as a senior writer/producer/director in the video communications department. There she was honored with a Telly award, an IABC Bronze Quill and an ITVA Silver Reel.
She is currently the owner of Silverado Productions, a multi-media and strategic event strategy and communications company.
Nanci holds a BA in Communications from Baylor University. She and her husband, Geff, have 2 grown sons.
