Marina J. Gonzales is the President & CEO of Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA), the only non-profit in Bexar County that trains, supervises, and empowers volunteer court appointed advocates to serve the best interest of abused and neglected children in the child welfare system. At CASA, Ms. Gonzales leads a dedicated staff of more than 40 employees and over 600 volunteer Advocates who work to support the legal, medical and emotional needs of child victims of abuse and neglect. She is proud to serve as the first Latina President & CEO in CASA’s 35-year history.
Marina joined CASA from CentroMed where she served as Executive Manager for Special Projects. During her time at CentroMed, she managed multiple projects related to development, government and legal affairs including a successful $12 million-dollar capital campaign to construct a new health and wellness center in southwest San Antonio.
Marina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from St. Mary’s University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois Chicago John Marshall Law School. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, and currently serves on the Bexar County Child Welfare Board, Co-Chair for the Child Welfare Sector of the South Texas Trauma Informed Care Consortium, Secretary of the Board of Directors for Ride Connect Texas, and is a 2019 recipient of the San Antonio Business Journal Women’s Leadership Award.
